Sept. 8 ABA patent drafting seminar explains: WYDIWYG

This month’s issue of Landslide, the magazine of the American Bar Association’s Section of Intellectual Property Law, includes an article by Joseph E. Root entitled “The Disclosure Revolution:  It’s a WYDIWG World.”   Joe, who recently authored the book “Rules of Patent Drafting“, is well known for his patent attorney and agent training seminars and materials.  The Landslide article discusses how the art of drafting patent applications has changed based on 25 years of Federal Circuit decisions that can be summed up by the principle “What You Disclose is What You Get.”

Next week, I will participate in a American Bar Association webinar panel discussion led by Joe in which Charles Macedo of Amster Rothstein and Edelestein LLP and I will review techniques for drafting patent applications that in view recent Federal Circuit caselaw.

The webinar will occur Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm U.S. Eastern time.  To register for the seminar, visit the ABA website by clicking here.
